Coroner IDs victim in fatal Charleston shooting
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- One person was killed after a shooting along Wilson Street in Charleston early Thursday, according to police.
Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis says the shooting happened around 2:45 a.m. Officials say the victim and suspect got into an argument, which led to the victim being shot.
According to Charleston police, 21-year-old Brandon Marshall was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Police said Marshall was taken into custody as he was trying to leave the scene. Marshall is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.
The coroner's office identified the victim as 23-year-old Anthony Williams.
This is the third shooting death on the peninsula this month.
