COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- One person died on a Colleton County road early Monday morning.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened shortly before 5 a.m. on Can City Road.
Troopers say the car was headed northbound on Can City Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, hit a culvert which caused the vehicle to go airborne and hit a tree.
The driver was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was wearing a seatbelt, officials said.
The coroner's office has not released the name of the driver.
The Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
