1 injured, another charged in North Charleston shooting

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- One person was wounded in an early morning shooting in North Charleston. Police arrested a suspect a short time later.

According to North Charleston police, officers were sent to a reported the Cheapway gas station on Dorchester Road at South Allen Drive.

When officers arrived, police say they found a shooting victim lying on the ground between two cars. During the investigation, police learned the victim and the suspect had been in some kind of argument before the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Bobby Warthaw, allegedly shot the victim.

The victim was taken to Medical University Hospital for treatment.

Police say during a search for Warthaw, they found him lying in the driveway of a South Allen Drive home; a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was found in a recycle bin.

Warthaw was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.
