1 killed, 1 wounded in shooting at Orangeburg night club

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCIV) - One person was shot to death early Sunday morning outside a nightclub in Orangeburg. Another man was wounded.

Officials announced Monday that a suspect had been arrested in the case.

According to Orangeburg County deputies, 37-year-old Tellaferror Randolph was arrested in Santee for the shooting across the street from Club Ambition. Randolph is charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

"To the bad boys who turn into cowards after they commit a crime and run and hide: I will use every resource available to hunt you down just like you did when you shot at two people," said Sheriff Leroy Ravenell.

According to Orangeburg County deputies, the shooting happened at a club on Neeses Highway shortly after 2 a.m.

Deputies say two men were sitting in the parking lot when the suspect drove up and shot one of the men three times. The second man tried to run but was shot in the back.

The second victim died, investigators said. The coroner has identified the victim as 28-year-old Travis T. Wilson of Vance.

If anyone has information on the shooting, they are asked to contact investigations at 803-534-3550 or Crime Stoppers at 888-CrimeSC.

Randolph is set to go through bond court Tuesday afternoon.
