      1 killed, 2 airlifted in crash on I-95 in Colleton

      COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- One person was killed and two others were airlifted to area hospitals after a crash on Interstate 95 Wednesday morning.

      According to state Highway Patrol officials, the crash happened on I-95 southbound near the 41 mile marker at 9:34 a.m.

      Troopers say a Dodge SUV and a Ford pickup truck collided. The driver of the SUV was killed in the crash; the passenger in the SUV was airlifted to Savannah Memorial Hospital.

      The driver of the pickup truck was airlifted to Medical University Hospital.

      Officials said the Highway Patrol's accident investigation team is still investigating the crash to determine what happened. Officials say everyone was wearing a seatbelt.
