Police make arrests in North Charleston homicide

      NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Two people were arrested Thursday in connection to a fatal shooting in North Charleston that police had linked to drug activity.

      Police said Jalann Lee Williams and Robert Mitchell II were both charged with murder. Williams was also charged with possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

      North Charleston police said a man was shot to death on Ward Avenue Wednesday evening.

      According to police, officers were dispatched to 6852 Ward Ave. regarding possible shots fired. When they arrived, they found a man in the passenger side of an SUV, lying across the center console. The female driver was walking around, talking on her cell phone.

      Police said the man was dead when they arrived.{}

      The victim has been identified by the coroner's{} office as 21-year-old Akeen Jamal Ladson. Police said their investigation revealed that the victim went to the location to meet two suspects for a drug deal.

      Williams and Mitchell are expected to appear in bond court on Friday.
