2 Cougars, 1 Bulldog names to SoCon all-conference team

      ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The Southern Conference released onThursday its preseason men's basketball poll, showing the conference's coaches picked Davidson and theUniversity of North Carolina at Greensboro to lead the north and southdivisions.

      Davidson's De'Mon Brooks was also named the SoCon Player ofthe Year.

      The College of Charleston wasselected to finish second in the South Division, picking up 54 votes toDavidson's 65.

      CofC's Andrew Lawrence and Trent Wiedeman were selected tothe preseason all-conference team. The Citadel's Mike Groselle was also namedto the team.

      The coaches' poll selected the Bulldogs to finish last inthe South Division.
