SANTEE, S.C. (AP) - The bodies of two men have been pulled from Lake Marion, where they had been swimming.
The Natural Resources Department says a woman who was swimming with the men near the Interstate 95 bridge made it to shore and called for help late Tuesday afternoon.
Natural Resources Department spokesman Robert McCullough says agency divers recovered the bodies about 6:30 p.m.
The Clarendon County Coroner's office on Wednesday identified the victims as 19-year-old Josh Owens of Eastover and 21-year-old Timothy Dixon of Sumter.
Lt. Brian Corbett said it appears one of the men got in trouble while swimming and the other man tried to help and both of them drowned.Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
