BEAUFORT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Two Beaufort High School students were killed in a single-car accident Saturday night.
Officials with the South Carolina Highway Patrol say a 2009 Mitsubishi Sedan was traveling on Seaside Road when the 18-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle and the car went off the road, overturned and struck a tree.
Both the driver and the teen riding in the passenger's seat died at the scene of the accident officials say happened at about 7:44 p.m.
A 14-year-old female riding in the back seat of the car was injured and taken to Savannah Memorial Hospital.
Officials with the highway patrol say all the teens were wearing seatbelts and they will continue their investigation into the cause of the crash.
The Beaufort County Coroner's Office has confirmed the deceased victims as 18-year-old Chelsie Faulk, a Beaufort High senior, and Kayleeana Hudson-Banks, 15, a sophomore.
