      City of N.Charleston:29th annual National Night Out

      North Charleston Police Chief Jon Zumalt to kick off National Night Out Tuesday Night

      NORTH CHARLESTON, S. C. (WCIV)-{} Across the country, communities and those in charge of protecting them will come together to mark the 29th annual National Night Out.

      Locally, the city of North Charleston will be joining forces with Target and residents of the Acabbee community for a cookout and crime prevention activities.

      Police chief Jon Zumalt will kick off the event starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Accabee Community Center.

      Other North Charleston communities will hold similar events.

      Those who live in Accabee, Forest Hills 1, Midland Park/Stall Road corridor, Charleston Farms, Union Heights and more are asked to turn on their porch lights as a sign of unity and to let criminals know that the city of North Charleston will not tolerate criminal activity.

      Nationally, over 33 million people will take part in events like this worldwide.
