2nd man charged in Myrtle Beach carjacking death

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a second man faces charges in the carjacking death of a 21-year-old man two weeks ago.

Myrtle Beach Police Department Lt. Doug Furlong says 20-year-old Philip Elijah Turner of Myrtle Beach is charged with accessory after the fact. He was arrested Wednesday, two days after the arrest of 24-year-old Swava Lamere McCrea of Myrtle Beach.

McCrea is charged with murder and carjacking in the death of Joshua Pyatt, who was killed June 23. Witnesses told police Pyatt was in his car when they heard four gunshots and saw a man get into the car and drive away.

It's not clear if Turner or McCrea has an attorney.

Pyatt's aunt says her nephew was visiting in Myrtle Beach and he planned to move to Columbia to start a job.
