4 charged in Mount Pleasant break-ins, burglaries

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Four people were arrested in connection to a string of burglaries in Mount Pleasant.

According to Mount Pleasant police, Allison Marie Mast, Brian John Toler, John Joseph Haeger and Bryan Earls were arrested and charged with multiple counts of breaking into cars, as well as an assortment of drug and larceny charges among the group.

Police say they were called to a burglary in process on Monday at a Grove Manor Court home. Police say the victim had seen a suspect in her garage in the act of burglarizing the home.

The suspect fled but the witness was able to give police a description that led to Toler's capture.

Items recovered from Toler and Haeger, along with the subsequent investigation linked the two along with Mast and Earls to multiple crimes in the following neighborhoods of Mount Pleasant: The Groves, Runaway Bay Apartment, Planters Pointe Subdivision, Brickyard and Old Village.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Haeger was also arrested in September for allegedly stealing things from Walmart.

According to that incident report, Haeger tried to walk out of the store with an $85 cookware set, a $100 coffee maker, and some knives valued at $40.
