HARTSVILLE, S.C. (WPDE/WCIV) -- It was an emotional goodbye Wednesday as the four small children killed in a house fire in Hartsville last week were laid to rest. The four children who died in the fire were ten-month-old twins Myasia and Kynasia Hawkins, their brother, 4-year-old Delonta Dixon, and another brother, 2-yeaer-old Camaron Mason, according to Coroner J. Todd Hardee. The children's obituary referred to them as angels, and that's how they were remembered at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Hartsville.More than 1,500 people filed into the church to say their final goodbyes to the young children."My heart just hurt for the kids," said Emma Benjamin, a relative. Many became overwhelmed with emotion at the sight of the tiny caskets rolling down the aisle. The preacher tried to offer some words of comfort and commended first responders for their efforts to save the children. The children's mother, Hope Hawkins, has been charged with four counts of Homicide by Child Abuse and four counts of Unlawful Neglect of a Child. She was denied bond and could not attend the funeral. The children were laid to rest at Mount Zion Cemetery.
