4 children rescued from Kiawah shallows

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- Four children were rescued by Charleston County Rescue Squad and St. John's Fire Department personnel Wednesday afternoon after being caught with their kayak in the shallows off Kiawah Island.

According to Charleston County Rescue officials, the four were stuck in the marsh behind Dune Marsh Villas.

Due to the shallow water, an airboat was dispatched to the area and pulled the four juveniles back to a dock where they were reunited with their parents.

No one was injured in the rescue, officials said.
