42nd annual Scottish Games has something for everyone

      MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) - Boone Hall Plantation will be transformed Saturday into a little piece of Scotland. {}Gates open for the 42nd annual Scottish Games at 9 a.m. {}The opening ceremony will start at 11:00.{}The Scottish Games have a little something for everyone, whether it be traditional music, Olympic type competition, or the wide variety of food offered.{}"We have the caber toss, the sheaf toss. It's amazing to see these men just tossing this telephone pole like it's a toothpick," said organizer Karolea Lucas. {}"And, it's remarkable the strength that these men have, and the years of practice that it takes to be able to do the Scottish athletics."Lucas expects more than 7,000 people to attend. {}So if you plan to come you may want to get an early start.{}"The competitions go on all day, from first thing in the morning until early evening," said Lucas.{}At 6 p.m. the evening concert will begin.{} Much of the proceeds will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. {}
