CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP/WCIV) - The fourth annual Lt. Dan Weekend is being held this week in a new city with a new concert venue and a new sponsor.
But what is not new is the purpose - raising money to support wounded vets - and the headliner, actor Gary Sinise, playing with his Lt. Dan Band.
The first three Lt. Dan Weekends were held in Beaufort. This year, the events are being held in Charleston, with Sinise playing at The Citadel's John Hagood Stadium on Saturday night. Boeing is now the title sponsor.
South Carolina's two U.S. senators will be on hand Saturday. Weekender organizers say Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott will bring a Harley Davidson signed by all the members of the Senate to be auctioned for the cause.
Despite expecting between seven and eight thousand to attend the event, organizers say thousands of tickets are still available.
Janice Byrouty with the Independence Fund did have a word of warning for ticket holders.
She told ABC News 4 that the tickets had a misprint.
"Doors open at 5:30 and music begins at 6 p.m.," she said. "Ideally people will be in their seats no later than 6:30 p.m. The Veterans are being escorted to the stadium around 6:30 and we would really love for them to look up into the stands and see the support from the Charleston area residents."**The Associated Press contributed to this report.
