      5 nabbed in string of robberies in Berkeley County

      GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) -- Five men have been arrested in connection with a string of armed robberies and a home invasion in Berkeley County.

      Investigators said Monday the men were involved in crimes in the Sunrise Mobile Home Park on Red Bank Road in Goose Creek between Sept. 24 and Oct. 14.

      Nicholas Berry, 19, of Goose Creek, is charged with armed robbery, two counts of first-degree burglary, four counts of first-degree assault and battery and strong-armed robbery.

      James R. Reid, 21, of Goose Creek, is charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon and first-degree assault and battery.

      Jahleel Simmons, 17, of Goose Creek, is charged with two counts of armed robbery, four counts of first-degree assault and battery, and first-degree burglary.

      George R. Cannon, 18, of North Charleston, is charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, first-degree burglary, three counts of first-degree assault and battery and strong-armed robbery.

      Reginald Williams, 30, of Goose Creek, is charged with first-degree burglary.

      Bond amounts for the men range from $240,000 to more than $665,000.
