MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (AP) - The aircraft carrier USS Yorktown is 70 years old and the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum where it is berthed is having a party.
On Sunday, the cockpits of 7 of the aircraft aboard the carrier will be open for display. The event includes living history programs with former Yorktown pilots and crew members aboard the carrier moored on the Mount Pleasant side of Charleston Harbor.
A birthday celebration will be held Sunday afternoon, followed by a performance by the Charleston Community Band.
