CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - The Garden Club of Charleston's 76th Annual Walking Tour of Private Houses & Gardens will be held Friday, April 15, and Saturday April 16, 2011 from 2 to 5 p.m.
The tours will include some of Charleston's finest homes and gardens in historic Ansonborough and Harleston Village and will feature flowers arranged by members of The Garden Club of Charleston. Refreshments will be served in a lovely Charleston garden.
The Garden Club of Charleston is the second oldest garden club in the country and is very proud to have been opening Charleston homes and gardens for both the public to enjoy and to support the Club's continuing projects. This is the most beautiful time of the year in Charleston as the gardens and weather are at their peaks. Chairmen for the event are Mimi Scharf and Jane Pearman.
Tickets are $40 for one day and $70 for both days. Tickets may be purchased in advance, and they will also be available at the Charleston Visitors' Information Center on April 14-16 from 10 am to 1 pm. For information on the tours and how to order tickets, please visit www.thegardenclubofcharleston.org or call 843.530.5164.
All proceeds benefit The Garden Club of Charleston's continuing projects--maintaining the gardens of the Joseph Manigault House, the Heyward-Washington House, the Association for the Blind, the Charleston Museum Courtyard, the Confederate Home, the MUSC Healing Garden, and Gateway Walk.
