      Police: Teens wanted for Northwoods Mall shooting captured

      NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - The teens wanted for shooting another person outside Northwoods Mall were taken into custody Tuesday evening, police said. The arrests came just hours after the police report and 911 calls were released.{}A NCPD spokesperson announced that the 15-year-old is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. He is in the custody of Department of Juvenile Justice.

      The 16-year-old suspect, identified as Timothy McClendon, is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. He is expected to have a bond hearing Wednesday afternoon.

      The two black males accused of shooting a third black man outside Northwoods Mall Monday afternoon ran into the mall, according to 911 calls and a police report."I got out of the truck and heard pop-pop-pop and two guys jumped out the car and the fella wrecked his car in the parking lot, and these two black males - I saw them running into the mall," said one 911 caller.He told dispatchers the two men ran towards King Street Grill.With the suspects running away, the caller also tried to help the 20-year-old victim, telling him: "Just lay down. Don't get up."The caller described a bloody, desperate scene in the mall's parking lot."He's been shot all to hell. He needs an ambulance quick," he told dispatchers.The victim was alert, however, telling the 911 caller someone named "DJ" had shot him. The police report, also released Tuesday, identifies the suspects as "BJ" and "Gooch." One is 15 years old, the other is 16, police said.A second caller said he was leaving the mall when he heard the shots and saw two black men running toward the mall."Their shirts were pulled over their heads," he said. "I was getting in my car and heard maybe two shots, then saw two guys running and one guy on the ground."Inside the mall, a third caller told dispatchers the shooting happened just outside the entrance.The mall was shut down for about five hours Monday afternoon, only reopening after SWAT teams moved through the mall searching for the suspects.Police said Monday they were "99.9 percent" certain the suspects had left the mall, but performed the search as a precaution.The victim was taken toe Medical University Hospital in serious condition.
