911 service restored in Hollywood, Ravenel

HOLLYWOOD, S.C. (WCIV) -- Emergency 911 service has been{} restored after being temporarily interrupted for land line users in the areas of Hollywood and Ravenel.

Service came back online around 3 p.m.

According to a release from Charleston County, Frontier Communications reported the outage around 9:40 a.m. Monday. The outage affects 462 customers that use the 889 prefix on their land lines.

Frontier Communications is actively working to fix the outage. County officials said updates would be provided when the system is repaired.

In the event of an emergency, customers in the affected area should call 9-1-1 using a cell phone or go to the closest fire station.

For non-emergencies, customers in the affected area can call the Charleston County Sheriff's Office administrative line at (843) 202-1700.
