CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- It was a celebration of food at MUSC's urban farm Wednesday afternoon.
The celebration was part of Food Day, a nationwide celebration and movement toward more healthy, sustainable food. The Charleston event was one of many held across the country.
The event featured food demonstrations and classes - and even a pumpkin-carving contest featuring ABC News 4 Meteorologist Tom Crawford.
The theme of the event? Keeping it Real.
Organizers said that means focusing on real food and the benefits of growing and eating healthy, organic and sustainable food.
"This is meant as a demonstration garden and an educational garden," said Susan Whelan, wellness program coordinator. "Demonstration in terms of you can come in here, see what things look like, try them, taste them, learn a little bit about planting, growing, preparing, get some recipes."
