Charleston, S.C. (WCIV) -- More than a dozen dogs have been taken from a Charleston home, including one that was dead.
Charleston County Animal Control deputies found the animals at a home on Sanders Road last week after getting a call about a dead dog. There they also found 14 others living in unsanitary conditions without basic care.
Investigators say they later learned the dogs owner was out of town and a friend was supposed to look after them, but that friend did not have transportation.
Police have charged Rodney Gladden of Ravenel with violating a Charleston County Animal Care ordinance.
