Aerospace conference slated to open in Charleston
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- The aerospace business is the focus of a two-day conference slated to open in Charleston.
Gov. Nikki Haley and Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt are scheduled to speak at the SpeedNews Aerospace Manufacturing Conference that opens on Tuesday and continues through Wednesday.
Haley is the luncheon speaker on Tuesday.
Officials of Boeing's South Carolina plant, including vice president and general manager Jack Jones, are also attending the conference.
It's been just about a year since the first Boeing 787 came off the assembly line at the company's $750 million plant in North Charleston.
