Affidavit: Walmart stabbing suspect confessed

Darius Green appears in bond court on Thursday morning.

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- According to a court affidavit obtained on Thursday, Darius Green provided a written statement to investigators -- admitting involvement in the death of a man at a Walmart.

Investigators believe Darius Green, who goes by "D", stabbed 20-year-old David J. Moultrie of Mount Pleasant in the entry area of the Market at Oakland Walmart after a physical altercation.

Green appeared in bond court on Thursday morning, no bond was set. Magistrate Judge Galloway-Paisley informed him that due to the violent nature of the incident, bond would be set by a circuit court judge at a later date.

Family members of Moultrie and Green were at bond court. Kenneth Cooke, a cousin of Green, said he was surprised by Green's arrest.

"I lost somebody close," Cooke said. "It's not a TV I was watching. It's like real life."

Cooke said he hadn't spoken to his cousin in a few days, that's why he came to see him at bond court.

"...To make sure he's still got his head up and everything," Cooke said. "To let him know he's still got some people supporting him and everything."

"The other family ain't the only family that lost. Everybody is losing right now," Cooke said. "...I was hurt. ...I didn't believe it at first, but I am here."
