"American Idol" winner holds hometown benefit
BLUFFTON, S.C. (AP) - This year's "American Idol" winner is in the pink.
Hundreds attended as Candice Glover of Saint Helena Island performed a 45-minute set at a benefit concert in Bluffton.
She performed on a pink stage with palmetto trees with pink lights to raise money for cancer patients. The event, called "Candice for a Cure," helped raise $16,000 for the Keyserling Cancer Center at the Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
