Animal Control investigates dog bite involving child

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Berkeley County Animal Control investigated a dog bite involving a six-year-old child over the weekend, said Berkeley County officials.

Officials said the child's relative contacted Animal Control and told them the child had been attacked on Rahway Road.

Animal Control officials determined the child went into the backyard where the dogs were. The dogs were not at large or running loose.

Animal Control filed an incident report and sent it to the Department of Health and Environmental Control, the agency that handles rabies concerns.
