Animal society asks for help caring for kitten caught in fan belt

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - The Charleston Animal Society is hoping the public will come forward with donations to help heal a cat injured in a car's fan belt.

According to officials, the kitten lost her tail and an ear, broke a leg, and is spending some time in a body cast.

But thanks to Toby's Fund, the kitten will get the needed care to recover.

Launched almost a year ago, Toby's Fund is named for a severely injured dog named Toby who came to the shelter's clinic badly burned and in desperate need of medical attention.

After extensive medical attention and love given him by Charleston Animal Society staff, he was able to leave the shelter happy and whole.
