No bond set for man accused of Ravenel mobile home park killing
RAVENEL, S.C. (WCIV) - The man accused of killing one person and wounding another at a Ravenel mobile home park was not given a bond on Wednesday.
According to sheriff's deputies, a U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested James Forrez Wright for the murder of Latorria Heyward.
The shooting happened the morning of July 13. According to Charleston County deputies, two armed black men forced their way into a home at the Three Oaks Mobile Home Park on Savannah Highway and demanded money from a man and his fiance.
Deputies say shots were fired inside the home and both Jerry Simmons and his fiancee, LaTorria Heyward, were wounded. Heyward died at the scene, deputies said, and Simmons was airlifted to Medical University Hospital for treatment.
Officials said Wright was found in Savannah, Georgia and is currently at the Chatham County Detention Center until he is extradited back to South Carolina.
