CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Investigators with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office say they've got the man they've been looking for -- they say DNA confirms it.
Investigators arrested Marion Lamont Brown Jr. Wednesday afternoon at his home on Johns Island two weeks after they say he carjacked and raped a woman.
Brown was not happy to see our camera outside the Sheriff's office when authorities brought him in for questioning.
Authorities have been looking for Brown since May 23rd when investigators say he forced a woman parked at the West Ashley Medical Center to drive to Sunnyvale Road. Investigators say he raped her at a vacant home.
"This lead and break in the case came as a result of the DNA test and the results that sled gave us," Sheriff Al Cannon said.
Cannon said two witnesses identified Brown through a photo line up.
"We're confident of our investigation where we are with this," Sheriff Cannon said.
Brown was out on bond for an aggravated assault charge in the City of Charleston. That case was still pending. The sheriff's office charged him with three counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct, grand larceny of a motor vehicle, kidnapping and second degree assault and battery.
