Arrests made in double shooting on Rebecca St

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - North Charleston Police have arrested two people in connection with the double shooting that happened Sunday afternoon on Rebecca Street in North Charleston.

According to NCPD spokesperson, Spencer Pryor, shortly before 3 p.m. officers responded to 2253 Rebecca Street where two male victims were found suffering from gun shot wounds.

Both victims were transported to MUSC. According to the Charleston County Coroner's Office, Anthony Watley III, 23, was pronounced dead from his injuries at MUSC.{} An autopsy is scheduled on Monday.

Pryor says the second victim, 24-year-old DeAngelo Antwan Scott (also known as 'Boobie'), was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

He also says investigators determined that an altercation occurred between the victims and suspect which resulted in the shooting. According to a police report, witnesses told police that the shooting happened during an attempted robbery.

Thomas Lamont Ancrum, 23, and Jamal Smalls, 24, have both been charged with murder, attempted murder and armed robbery.
