Autopsy to identify body found in Lake Hartwell

ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) -- An autopsy is planned to determine the identity of a man who whose body was found in a barrel in Lake Hartwell, the second body found in the water in 24 hours.

Anderson County Sheriff's spokesman Chad McBride says the latest body was found around 3:30 p.m. Thursday near a bridge.

The body of an Anderson woman had been found in another barrel about a quarter mile from the bridge on Wednesday. That woman's body has been identified but her name has not been released while authorities notify her family. Coroner Greg Shore says the woman was killed at least a month ago.

Shore says he thinks the man was killed about the same time. McBride says the deaths are being investigated as a related pair of homicides.
