Autocross event held in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- People raced cars through the parking lot of the North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday as part of an autocross event.Organizers set up cones in the parking lot to create an obstacle course for drivers.

The racing is done at low to medium speeds.

Participants were separated into categories and competed with other drivers for the fastest time.Organizers said the event helps emphasize driver's skill and precise vehicle housing.The event was hosted by the South Carolina Sports Car Club of America.The group will be holding another event in North Charleston on August 17.For more information, visit
