Ava Wilhite

Ava comes to WCIV after working as a freelance reporter in Charleston for nearly a year.

A Michigan native, Ava began her career as a reporter for HOM-TV a government access channel which helped her earn a producing job at a local NBC affiliate in Lansing, Michigan.

After gaining experience as a news producer, Ava accepted a job as Anchor/Reporter in Nebraska, followed by an opportunity to one-man band in Lafayette, Indiana.

Ava is a proud graduate of Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. Go Pirates!

She's served as a volunteer for both Big Brother Big Sisters in Indiana and South Carolina. She's also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.

Ava is excited to live in warmer climate where she can golf year round. She looks forward to continuing to explore Charleston and learning more about the rich history.
