AWENDAW, S.C. (WCIV) -- A fire destroyed an uninhabited mobile home in Awendaw Wednesday morning.
According to fire officials, the first calls about the Conch Road fire came in around 10:30 a.m. and firefighters were one scene shortly after.
The fire was fully involved when Awendaw fire crews arrived. They were able to get the fire under control in about 30 minutes, but spent nearly two more hours taking care of hot spots around the property.
Mount Pleasant Fire Department crews also stepped in to assist.
A neighboring home had slight damage, fire officials said. The homeowner said there were a couple windows that cracked due to the heat.
The home had been under renovations, fire officials said. No one had lived in the home for a few months.
Fire investigators are still working on determining what caused the fire.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
