Ball, shopping day support Lowcountry AIDS Services

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Shopping Withe Friends, an annual fundraiser for Lowcountry AIDS Services is celebrating 10 years with a new twist on the event and more retail and restaurant partners.

Lowcountry AIDS Services and The Event Cooperative are hosting a pre-shopping evening on the town at the "Casablanca Night" Ball Friday from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.

The event will be held at Hibernian Hall on Meeting Street.

Local jazz musician Charlton Singleton will be there with a 14-piece Big Band. There will be a Moroccan banquet, as well. You can purchase tickets for $80 a person here.

On Saturday, dozens of Red Ribbon retailers and restaurants in the Charleston area will participate in Shopping With Friends. Those businesses will donate 10% of every dollar spent back to Lowcountry AIDS Services.

"As we mark the 10th anniversary of this incredible community event, we're excited to introduce the ball in the evening followed by a day of shopping for a wonderful cause, said Brad Childs, executive director of Lowcountry AIDS Services. "This is truly a celebration of the work of Lowcountry AIDS Services has done all year thanks to our supporters, business partners and volunteers."
