Banker to speak at Charleston MLK Day event

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Business leaders and professionals in Charleston are honoring the memory of the Rev. Martin Luther King at an annual gathering.

The sixth annual Martin Luther King Business and Professional Breakfast is scheduled for Tuesday at the College of Charleston's TD Arena. The speaker is Eva Tansky Blum.

Blum is the senior vice president and director of community affairs for PNC Bank. She's also the chairwoman and president of the PNC Foundation.

One of the foundation's programs is PNC Grow Up Great, a $350 million initiative started almost a decade ago to support early childhood education.
