Barnwell police need help finding homicide suspect

BARNWELL, S.C. (WCIV) -- Barnwell police are hoping the public can help them find a man wanted for three counts of attempted murder.

According to a released from the police department on Wednesday, Dustin Robert Williamson is wanted on three counts of attempted murder for crimes in March and June. He is also wanted on murder charges by State Law Enforcement Division officers for an incident in May.

Barnwell police say Williamson is known to keep a pistol in his front waistband. Police say the last shooting in which he was linked involved a .45-caliber handgun, but he is also known to carry a .40-calibery High Point handgun.

According to police, Williamson may be driving a silver 2010 Chevy Equinox with the SC tag JBU 865. The car is registered to Sandra and John Williamson, police said.

A release says Williamson has ties to Newark, N.J., and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., but officials do not think he has the money to get to either city. However, they do think Williamson is headed to Aiken, S.C.
