BCSO: Goose Creek shooting still under investigation

GOOSE CREEK, S. C. (WCIV) -- A shooting in Goose Creek Tuesday night has left one man hospitalized.

According to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a shooting that happened around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night at a home on Deerberry Street.

Deputies arrived on the scene to find a man laying in the front yard{}of the home. He had suffered a gunshot wound to his right knee.

The victim was transported to MUSC. His name and current condition has not been released.

Witnesses told police that they saw a white Lincoln Towncar with a tan top riding slowly through the neighborhood. Another witness told police they saw two young black males running from the scene towards foster Creek Road.

Police say the victim was returning home when two black males with masks came up to the victim from the side of the house and demanded money. After shooting the victim, the report says the suspects tried to force their way into the home but the victim held the door shut so they ran off.

No motive or suspects in the shooting have been announced.
