Beaufort Marines hold festival for children

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) - Marines from the Air Station in Beaufort are working with local agencies to hold the 19th annual KidsFest and help the community become aware of child abuse.

Marine Corps spokeswoman Sgt. Marcy Sanchez says Saturday's event is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. and runs until 2:30 p.m. It is being held at the Cross Creek Shopping Center in Beaufort.

The event is free to the public. It marks both Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Month of the Military Child.

It offers games, rides and food as well as information about the many services available in the local community for military and civilian families.
