Benefit for son of runner who died in Savannah, Ga

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A fundraiser is being held to benefit the son of a 35-year-old Columbia runner who collapsed died last year at the finish of the Savannah marathon in Georgia.

Jack and Jane Sport is raising money Thursday for the Jake Zeman College Fund. Brooks Running is launching a new apparel line, and a portion of the night's proceeds will go toward the fund.

Zeman died in November after falling ill during the Rock 'n' Roll Savannah Marathon. Friends have set up the fund to help his son, Jack, eventually pay for college.

The event is free and open to the public.
