JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) - A Lowcountry restaurant is hosting a benefit for the family of a teenager shot to death as he slept in his car.

Lucky's Southern Grill hosts a summer concert series every Saturday in June but this weekend, part of the proceeds will go to help the family of Marley Lion.

The restaurant is offering some great food and drink specials and the event promises to be fun for the entire family with jump castles and local band Flatt City.

      The event is from{}6 p.m. to{}9 p.m. Saturday, June 23rd.

Organizers say the money will be donated to the family. All they ask for is a $10 donation at the door.

Another fund is also being set up by state representatives Chip Limehouse and Wendell Gaillard. Each of them have pledged $500 to start an account to help catch and convict Lion's killer.

Rep. Limehouse, a former employer of Lion's, issued the following statement:

"We simply cannot tolerate this type of lawlessness in our community and I look forwArd to working closely with Rep. Wendell Gilliard and members of law enforcement to bring about a swift capture and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this heinous crime. Marley was an outstanding individual and had a bright future. He was a credit to our community and it is a shame to have lost him at such a young age. he will be sorely missed."

If you are interested in contributing to this fund, you can contact Cathy Collum at the Charleston County Legislative Delegation.
