Berkeley County celebrate Earth Day at Cypress Gardens

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) -- Berkeley County is celebrating Earth Day at Cypress Gardens this weekend.

The event starts Saturday at 10 a.m. and will last until about 4 p.m.

There will be recycling games for the kids, booth, displays and an antique tractor show.

"This is the first event of its kind at Cypress Gardens," explains Heather Graham, Cypress Gardens Manager. "We will be creating a fun and educational atmosphere to recognize and promote good stewardship of our earth's natural resources.{} The antique tractor show will add to the energy and excitement.{} This is going to be a great day for children and adults of all ages to come and enjoy a beautiful day."

The event is sponsored by the county in conjunction with Cypress Gardens, Berkeley County Water and Sanitation, Santee Cooper, Republic Services and Sonoco Recycling.

The antique tractor show and exhibits are free with regular paid admission to Cypress Gardens.

Berkeley County residents can get in free until noon with a photo ID.
