Berkeley school officials break ground on new elementary school

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Berkeley County Schools officials kicked off construction of a brand new school Monday morning.{}The Nexton community in Summerville is getting a new elementary school and the district held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the project.{}The school is expected to be completed by June of 2015. The building will house 400 students and cost nearly $20 million.{}The school will be built with money for the schools bond that was approved by voters in 2012.
