Ocean Course's best views to watch PGA Championship

KIAWAH ISLAND, SC (WCIV) -- All golf fans will be out on the Ocean Course this week for one thing, to watch the best of the best, do what they do best.
But there's definitely some thought involved to be able to get the best views. While there are so many great spots to catch the golf out on Kiawah, when it gets really crowded, finding the perfect view is going to be critical.
On the range and around the putting green, golfers were easy access during Monday's practice rounds. But the crowds will get bigger and the spots to watch will soon be shrinking.
"I think you just have to get lucky," said Bill Weaver. "That's what I think!"
The shaded hospitality suites are an obvious luxury. But what about the Ocean Course's finishing Par 4? Some fans say the best view is from the 18th green.
"Beautiful," Tom Batey said. "You have the ocean on the left, it was just a stunning view."
The Par 3, 17th provides plenty of options. Plopping down in a folding chair or along the grass is hard to beat. The view doesn't get much better.
"During a practice round, the 17th green seems to be the best so far," said Tim Devers
Then again others would argue. Course pros pointed us to a set of bleachers overlooking holes 16 and 17. Here you get two gorgeous views for the price of one.
"This is spectacular, this is as good as it gets," said Mark Wilson.
Wilson camped there with his wife and daughter for much of the day, checking out the players finishing up the Par 5, 16th. Wilson also had his eyes pointed at the next hole.
"And then the awesome tee shot, one of the best shots in the world over to number 17," he said. "It'll be packed up here Saturday, no doubt about it."
Not that we want to spoil it for the ones who are staking their claim early in the week. But claiming this spot over the weekend could now be a challenge.
