Bill Burr, Tessa Spencer take home trophies in bus road-eo

      WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCIV) -- Around and through obstacles in massive city transit buses, a group of celebrity bus drivers competed in the CARTA Bus Roadeo, including ABC News 4's Bill Burr and Tessa Spencer.{}

      The event was part of a{}qualifying event for the International BusRoadeo organized by the American Passenger Transport Association.{}

      "This annual event is about celebrating our talented anddedicated bus drivers and employees with the local qualifying round of thisinternational event," said CARTA Executive Director, Christine Wilkinson. "Weare honored to have local celebrities and personalities join us in thiscelebration and help us raise money for some great local organizations."

      Each of the celebrities competed in the course to hopefully raise money for their favorite charity. Burr won $500 for the Lowcountry Food Bank and placed third in the event. Spencer earned an honorable mention, noting that she placed the same at last year's event.{}

      The second place winner was{}Dee Jay Cass, winning $1,000 for the Lowcountry affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. And WCSC Chief Meteorologist Bill Walsh took home first place again, earning $2,000 for the Ronald McDonald House.{}

      Other participants included Rob Kincannon, the president of the South Carolina Stingrays; Michael T, the program manager at Star 99.7; Yonni Rude, the afternoon personality on 95SX; and CARTA Board Chairman Elliott Summey.{}

      After the celebrity event was over, CARTA's full-time driving staff competed for a chance to move on to the international contest.{}
