ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) -- Investigators say the remains of a man and a woman have been found in two barrels pulled out of Lake Hartwell in Anderson County.
Coroner Greg Shore says the first barrel was found on shore Wednesday and the body of a woman was inside. He says the woman has been identified, but her name has not been released because her family has not been notified.
Deputies at the lake found the second barrel Thursday afternoon in about 10 feet of water. Shore says investigators think the body is a man missing for about a month. An autopsy has been ordered for Friday to determine the identity and cause of death.
Investigators are talking to friends of the victims to determine who killed them and why. No arrests have been made.
