ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a woman whose body was found covered in cat litter under the floorboards of an Anderson mobile home was reported missing from that same address last year.
The Anderson County coroner's office said Wednesday that Regina Black died from blows to the head. Authorities don't know when she was killed, saying the body was badly decomposed.
Investigators say a woman cleaning the house found the body late Monday night. The house had been unoccupied for about 10 months.
Deputies say a friend reported Black missing in 2012, saying she hadn't been seen for months. Investigators say they checked hospitals, homeless shelters and with Black's family. All the evidence at the time indicated she had just left the area.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
