      Mount Pleasant police investigate fatal crash

      MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police say a person was killed Monday night in a car accident in Mount Pleasant.

      According to police, the crash happened around 9:46 p.m. at the intersection of Seacoast Parkway and Shoals Drive.

      When officers made it to the scene of the accident, they found a white SUV had collided with a pile of rocks and caught fire. The SUV was completely engulfed, officers said.

      Firefighters

      were called to put out the fire. Once the fire was out, police officers found the remains of one person.

      The coroner's office identified the driver as 23-year-old Ernest Bacon, of Mount Pleasant. He died from injuries he sustained from the collision.

      The accident is still under investigation.
