NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Boeing upped the ante for its future production goals. The aerospace giant increased its 20 year prediction for airplane sales to 34,000.
The announcement came Tuesday, just a day after French competitor Airbus released its plans to build an assembly plant in Alabama.
Boeing believes airlines will start purchasing larger planes with higher price tags as more people continue to travel in China, India and other emerging markets.
On Tuesday, Boeing said $4.5 trillion worth of planes will be sold over the next 20 years.
